Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible, in the Old and New Testament Scriptures, to be the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God and the final authority in all matters that pertain to life and faith.
We believe that God is Spirit – infinite, eternal, and unchangeable in His being, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth – one God eternally existing in three persons (the Trinity) – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – equal in power and glory.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, offered Himself as an atoning sacrifice, reconciled His people to God, bodily rose again from the grave, ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of God the Father, and one day will return in glory to judge the living and the dead.
We believe that in eternity past, God chose a people in Christ and that in love, He predestined them to be His covenant people.
We believe man was created in the image and likeness of God, fell into sin through disobedience, and brought death to all men. Since Adam represented all mankind in the garden, the guilt of his sin is passed on to all men and renders them all alienated to God and without the ability to remedy their lost condition.
We believe that salvation is a free gift given by the grace of God through faith in the finished work of Christ Jesus and not by any works man can do. At salvation, a man is born anew, is justified in relation to God’s law, and is indwelt with the Holy Spirit who sanctifies him and enables him to live a life of godliness.
We believe that at death the souls of believers immediately pass into the presence of Christ. Their bodies remain in the grave until they are reunited with their souls at the resurrection at which time they will forever live in the presence of the Lord in glory. Those unbelievers who have rejected Christ will be eternally separated from God in the final judgement.
